I use all tools. That's the part most people can't picture, so here it is.
MY STUDIOS

Drew the whole bouquet on me right in the chair, even better than the one I sent.
DANA, MISSOULA
Didn't feel like a shop. Felt like a studio visit.
Ryan, BOZEMAN
Healed better than any piece I have.

I call these 80/20 designs. I spend twenty percent of the time getting eighty percent of the way there, then eighty percent of the time dialing in the last twenty. I draw, sketch, reference hunt, digital paint, 3D Sculpt, literally anything I can play with. That last part is the part that matters and it's the part I do by hand.
I've worked this way since before AI was a thing. The difference now is that in the time it used to take me to sketch two drafts, I can put a hundred on the table and throw out ninety seven getting to the perfect fit, then spend the normal time lining up the details. You're getting the one that survived a gladiator battle of critique, and then also my hands on it getting it just right for a tattoo.
Also: these don't get repeated. I've seen the same koi fish tattooed a hundred times. You won't run into yours on someone else's arm.
You bring me any design and I will make the minimum adjustments needed to make it viable.
I design it. It will look cool like something here, but it can be any subject matter.
One of these premade directions. Most of the design work is done.
The discount is for creative freedom, not for less work. If you're handing me a thousand dollars and letting me make something I already know is going to look good and be fun to build, that's worth five hundred a day for me to get it into my portfolio.
Full-day bookings on premade designs. 6 to 8 hours. Deposit required and it comes off the total.
Deposits are mandatory. Each session needs its own and it comes off the price. The clock starts when the needle touches skin, not when your appointment was scheduled.
I don't send artwork ahead of time. Twenty-three years in, that's the part that reliably goes wrong. You'll see it before we start and we'll change what needs changing.
Consults are video calls. I share my screen, draw while we talk, and see the actual spot on your body. Nobody drives across town twice.
Three fields. Monica texts you within five minutes, any hour.
I call during my hours as soon as I'm off the machine.
Send your name, number and the direction you want.
Monica texts you inside five minutes. She's a helper I built, running on my knowledge, awake when I'm not. She'll answer questions and line up a call.
I call you. I'm on the phone between 10 and 8 just never while I'm tattooing.
Deposit, date, and we both show up for final edits at tattoo time.
Then it's a custom at $1,250 a day. The gap is small on purpose. We'll figure out which side of the line you're on during the call. Some directions (floral & Caricature) are running custom at the $1,000 rate. Caricatures and floral right now.
I don't send artwork ahead of time. Twenty-three years in, that's the part that reliably goes wrong. You'll see it before we start and we'll change what needs changing. If needed we can work live on video together and I can share my screen. But I do not send a design to float past distant relatives.

I work and I love doing it. Generally for custom designs I need at least 2 weeks to ruminate and work on it and I try not to book more than 3 months out. That said, when choosing from this page we just need the first date that works for us both as the work is mostly all done. This could be hours or days depending on the work needing to be done. The Wanna-Dos have the shortest contact-to-completion pipeline.
